 Application details for the:

Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser

Individual Supporter and Partnership Development Officer

Romsey Mill is looking for skilled and enthusiastic fundraisers to join with us and play their part in helping to make our vision of a transformed society, where all young people, children and families fully belong, positively contribute and thrive, a reality.

Who we are

Romsey Mill is a Cambridge-based charitable organisation creating opportunities with young people, families and local communities, across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to overcome disadvantage, promote inclusion and develop personal, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Established in 1980 by local churches and working in partnership with a range of other organisations, Romsey Mill is a charity with a Christian ethos, working openly and inclusively with people of any faith and none.

We encourage and facilitate community members to come together and develop initiatives which generate responses to common challenges, nurture more resilient local communities, and promote equality and social justice.

The roles

We want to appoint two fundraisers to be part of a growing team to generate grant proposals and develop partnerships with individuals and local organisations to fund our programmed work to transform young lives; in order to secure and grow the current income target of £1.2m.

We are looking for:

  • an experienced Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to coordinate and carry out fundraising activities to secure grants and investment from Trusts, statutory bodies, and other funding partners; and communicate with them to grow and maintain positive relationships.
  • a skilled and creative Fundraiser to help us to coordinate and carry out fundraising activities to raise unrestricted voluntary funds from: individual donors, both one-off and regular giving; develop effective partnerships with business and community organisations, to grow engagement, participation and revenue;  grow income from individual and group participation in sponsored events and challenges; specific campaigns, team sponsorship challenges; and communicate with supporters and partner organisations through personal contact, print, press and digital media.

We will consider applicants for both roles who are looking to work full time (37.5 hpw), or part time (minimum 22.5 hours hpw).

Applicants should be positive about working within an organisation with a Christian ethos and with various expressions of faith across all cultures and backgrounds.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and aspiring fundraisers to be part of a developing team, with a chance to generate new ideas and relationships; and make an impact with a creative and compassionate locally based charity bringing about great difference for good with vulnerable young people, children and families in Cambridgeshire.

Our work

Cambridgeshire is a growing county with a resilient economy.  It’s a great place to grow up, but not if you’re poor or experiencing disadvantage.  There is hidden and dispersed poverty in otherwise affluent areas; over 70% of families in poverty in Cambridgeshire live in less deprived areas, and these children often have the worst outcomes.

The impact that Romsey Mill makes is rooted in relationships. We create opportunities with children and families, so that they can begin to see change in their own lives and the world around them.   Our team of staff members and volunteers engages co-creatively with hundreds of local young people, children and families, every year.

Our ethos also encourages positive work relationships, reflective practice, care and support for health and wellbeing, with much enjoyment and laughter along the way. We would love you to consider becoming part of our team.
