Over December, we need your support to raise £12,000 to help young people facing challenges at school, at home or in the community. Together we can give them a fresh start in 2015 - learning new skills, growing in confidence and fulfilling their potential. Here is a story about how Romsey Mill provides hope, transformation and second chances for young people:
Now 18, Chloe has been involved with Romsey Mill for over three years, starting in her last year at secondary school by taking part in ‘Step-up’ Alternative Education Programme. Chloe was a reserved young woman, but in a small group setting she flourished, developing her ability to work with others whilst gaining qualifications in English, maths, catering and art. Her confidence grew to the extent she organised a flash mob to raise awareness of road safety issues at the Grafton Centre! Working one-to-one with a mentor, she wrote a great CV and started applying for jobs. Despite her initial nervousness about job interviews, she was offered a position and is now working with small children at a local nursery.
