Twelve Days of Christmas 2015 - a story for the sixth day

< Back to listing

Olivia* was 13 when she first started attending Romsey Mill’s youth club in Sawston. She was having a tough time because her mum was in hospital with mental health issues, and Olivia felt very isolated. At school she was being bullied, and as her confidence nosedived, she felt as though she had no one she could talk to.

At youth club, she came out of her shell, and started to talk to youth workers about what she was going through “I feel the leaders really care for me. I know I can go to youth club and be welcomed.” Even though her situation may not have changed much, Olivia is now more resilient, has a support system in place and feels less down about her life.

#GiveHope to young people and #UnwrapPotential this Christmas by raising £18,000 in December:

  • text MILL12 (plus the amount you want to give) to 70070
  • send cash or a cheque (payable to Romsey Mill) to Romsey Mill, Hemingford Road, Cambridge, CB1 3BZ

Thank you!
