The weather on the 1st December certainly didn’t dampen the mood for those who visited Romsey Mill as part of Mill Road Winter Fair.
Families enjoyed the many activities on offer during the day - the bouncy castle and face painting were real hits, while others enjoyed making hats or Christmas related crafts.
We were very grateful to Cambridge University Press who ran the CUP Café, generously donating their time, hot drinks and delicious home made cakes for the second year running. The hot drinks and cosy atmosphere in the Jordan room provided a welcome break for many throughout the day.
Romsey Mill Children’s Centre staff walked the length of Mill Road handing out leaflets and balloons to publicise our excellent Children’s Centre groups and services to families.
Festive music was provided during the day by Sing! Community Choir and Shout Aloud—north Cambridge Children’s Choir. Children were also entertained by Emily Blickham, a local storyteller who combined story, art and music to tell her tales.
We are so pleased to be a part of such an important community event and were thrilled with the success of the day. We raised £476.89 on the day itself, all of which has been doubled as part of our 12 days appeal.
