Are you feeling like you need to set yourself a challenge for 2014?
We are challenging our friends and supporters to join us in our 24 Peak Challenge Trek.
It will take place in the beautiful Lake District from 25th – 27th April 2014 and is a tough but achievable challenge that will give participants a fantastic, rewarding two-day experience. If you have never done something like this but always wanted to set yourself a personal, physical challenge and push yourself to the limit, then this is the one for you. You will not only feel a sense of achievement, meet new people and be part of a team working towards a common goal, but the funds you raise will make a huge difference to disadvantaged young people and families in our local community.
The total mileage covered is around 32 miles and the total height climbed is over 13,000 feet. While an incredible feat, don’t be put off – you can do it!
We have had a couple of information sessions and momentum is building, with lots of interest and people signing up. It is not too late to come and join a team (or get your friends to be involved) but you do need to register by Monday 3rd March at the latest.
We are very excited that our 24 Peak Challenge Trek will be sponsored by Open Air, a specialist shop in Cambridge for outdoor clothing and gear. So if you are thinking of buying new boots or any other equipment for the trek, Open Air are offering 15% discount to all our trekkers on purchases made in the shop. Once you have registered, we will send you your personal discount card.
We are organising a couple of training events in the lead-up to the challenge. The first is on Saturday 15th February in Cambridge and all trekkers (plus family and friends) are welcome to join a ‘pre-24 Peak’ Big Day of Walking! The second will be on Sunday 23rd March in the Peak District.
