Ashley’s enthusiasm for life was transformed through working with Mike and Dave on alternative education courses at Romsey Mill and work experience in Romsey Mill Children’s Centre.
Ashley joined the alternative education programme in 2011. He worked hard, though excluded from mainstream school. With hindsight, he described his previous behaviour as ‘appalling’.
He brought a calm, considerate and fun presence to the Children’s Centre on work experience and delighted children and staff. His work with a child with special needs led to a ‘break through moment’ for the child.
He’s now started along a career path towards becoming a youth worker.
