Discovering talents, raising aspirations

< Back to listing

Jackson Nazombe, Social Inclusion coordinator, says, ‘In the current climate, with tight budgets, the thresholds for young people to access targeted help are very high. We want to work with young people who wouldn’t be welcome at mainstream groups but who aren’t considered at high enough risk for other services.

‘Through open groups, we want to support these young people to discover their talents, to raise their aspirations and skills and to keep them engaged with us and the networks our groups can offer. Without such groups, these young people may struggle to cope with the challenges they face.’
